First Aid at work

First aid at work certificate (18 hours).

This comprehensive course is designed to provide the skills required to give effective life support, diagnose, and treat injuries/illnesses and maintain the care and comfort of the casualty.

The emphasis is on treating life threatening situations and keeping all safe and alive until professional help arrives.

There are regular knowledge and practical skills assessments throughout the course and once passed the certificate will be valid for 3 years.

The training course will include:

• The roles and responsibilities of the first aider within the first aid setting
• Assessing incidents and managing casualties
• Chocking, shock, sepsis, minor injuries, eye injuries, burns and scalds
• Internal and external bleeding
• Chest injuries
• Major illnesses (stroke, heart attack, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes)
• Poisoning
• Suspected head and neck injuries
• Injuries to bones, joints and muscles
